Rishi Arundhati Saraswati

Rishi Arundhati Saraswati was born in 1937 in Tennessee, USA, and there met Rishi Vasishthananda Saraswati and was introduced to yoga. She holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Newcastle on Tyne, UK and is a specialist in infant/child development and cognitive development.

Since 1968 Rishi Arundhati has been teaching Satyananda Yoga. She was the compiler and contributor for the Yoga Publications Trust books Yoga Education for Children, Volume 1 by Sri Swami Satyananda, and Yoga Education for Children, Volume 2 by Swami Niranjanananda.

She and Rishi Vasishthananda founded the Association for Yoga Education in Schools (YES) in Canada and the USA in 1990. YES is a charitable and educational association aiming to increase the awareness of the positive effects of yogic discipline in the school and at home.

With Rishi Vasishthananda she served as Acharya of Satyananda Yoga centres in Northern Ireland (1969), Austria (1970) and England (1975-84), and since 1984 has lived in Canada where she and Rishi Vasishthananda are the Acharyas of the Satyananda Ashram Canada in Ancaster, Ontario.
