Swami Ahimsadhara Saraswati
Born in 1961, Swami Ahimsadhara began practising Satyananda Yoga in 1975, and also visited Mangrove Mountain ashram in Australia from a young age.
In 2001 Swami Ahimsadhara received sannyasa diksha, and from 2003 to 2011 she managed the Satyananda Yoga Centre in Hobart, Tasmania. General yoga classes were taught ranging from beginners to advanced, and specialized yoga classes were also provided for war veterans, pregnancy, mood management, and teenagers, and in workplaces and schools. Swami Ahimsadhara has a particular interest in yoga for post-traumatic stress disorder and yoga ecology.
From 2011 to 2013 Swami Ahimsadhara has been living at Ganga Darshan, where she has been involved in editing, teaching and photography. In 2013 she also conducted yoga shivirs in New Delhi on behalf of Bihar School of Yoga.
