Swami Madhavananda is a Senior Acharya with the Chinmaya Mission, and is currently Acharya of the Mission’s Ranchi branch.
He joined the Chinmaya Mission at the age of eighteen, and participated in the Mission’s Vedanta course, delving into ancient Indian philosophy and stress management as prescribed in the traditional scriptures.
Swami Madhavananda then served at the Chinmaya Vidyalaya at Nalconagar for eleven years, teaching children and giving public discourses on scriptures such as the Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads and Ramayana. He has held the posts of Acharya, Chinmaya Mission Kolkata, and Acharya at Rourkela, where he interacted with a wide range of people from different walks of life and conducted many public functions on yoga, stress management and related spiritual topics.
From 2002 to 2004 Swami Madhavananda was also the Acharya of the Brahmachari course at Sidhabari, Himachal Pradesh, teaching and training students in the traditional manner.
Since 2006 Swami Madhavananda has been the Acharya of the Chinmaya Mission, Ranchi. He conducts discourses on traditional topics from the scriptures and workshops on a range of practical spiritual topics for a variety of sectors in society, including students, parents, teachers and staff in schools, and employees and managers in the corporate sector.
