Swami Muktananda Puri
Swami Muktananda Puri is the Acharya of the Shri Harkeshpuri Ashram in Todarpur, Rajasthan. He is also a gifted orator who gives katha on the sacred scriptures and discourses on various spiritual topics.
Swami Muktananda was born in 1964 in the district of Alwar in Rajasthan. In his childhood years he spent much of his time in aradhana of Lord Shiva in a Shiva temple built by his ancestors.
In 1981 at a young age he was initiated into sannyasa by Shri Harkeshpuriji Maharaj. The same year he began studies at Gurukul Kangari University in Haridwar, and graduated with Vedalankar in 1985, an MA in Philosophy in 1987, and a PhD in 1992. His yoga sadhana continued at the same time, and he had darshan and received guidance from many saints and yogis throughout this period. In 1983 he visited Badrinath, and in 1985 he visited Gangotri, performing sadhana there.
Currently Swami Muktananda resides at Shri Harakeshpuri Ashram, Todarpur and travels throughout India, guiding spiritual seekers and aspirants and delivering discourses and satsangs on the Vedas, Upanishads and Srimad Bhagavad Gita.
